OffStill support

OffStill summarizes PDFs on your iPhone. Import a PDF and you get a plain-language summary back, without the file leaving the device.

Getting help

Send a message with the form below and you will get a reply by email. It helps to say which iPhone model and iOS version you are on, and roughly how long the document was.

Messages are delivered through Formspree, which handles the form on this site. See the privacy policy for what that means.

The app says Apple Intelligence isn't available

OffStill uses Apple's on-device model, so it needs an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, running iOS 26 or later, with the feature turned on in Settings. If you have just enabled it, the model may still be downloading; the app will work once that finishes.

My PDF came back with no readable text

Some PDFs are pure images with no text layer. OffStill runs OCR on those pages, but OCR needs a legible scan. A low-resolution photograph, heavy handwriting, or a blank page can all produce nothing. Open the Pages view to see exactly what text was pulled from each page and whether it came from the PDF's text layer or from OCR.

The summary is too long

Tap Summarize Again to condense it further. You can do that repeatedly. Undo puts the previous version back if a pass cuts too much.

A long document is taking a while

Long documents are read in pieces and combined, and all of that work happens on your phone rather than on a server. The progress bar shows an estimate of the time remaining. Keeping the app in the foreground lets it finish faster.

Privacy

See the privacy policy. Short version: the app collects nothing and uploads nothing.
